Last week Kamel and I dropped Gabe off at my parents’ and headed over to Snoqualmie Falls and Salish Lodge for an overnight and some pregnant spa-ing. If you would like a quintessential pacific northwest hotel experience it is 100% worth it to spend a night at Snoqualmie Falls.
Also it should be noted that their restaurant is one of the best I have ever experienced EVER. And it overlooks a massive waterfall! And they have chocolate souffle, of which I greatly indulged!
Also the beds are magnificent even for giant pregnant me. So, here is a totally unsponsored plug. Do some getawaying and some pampering and put this one on your list.
(lol that sign)
I love you forever and ever pacific northwest. And I will never not appreciate the lush.
You know the walk up is serious serious serious business when I tie my sweatshirt around my waist. It took me hours to stop looking like a tomato and Kamel had to assist me by pushing me up some of the bigger hills. Lord have mercy.

“That’s not a knife… THIS is a knife.”
(Oooo. GET IT. GET IT!)
Cut to: breakfast the next day because 85% of this staycation was eating.
Kamel’s breakfast wins ALL of the games.
How have you been indulging lately? Where and when have you been able to take a tiny chunk of time out of the usual just for yourself? If you haven’t, you should! (Mid week hotel rates are cheaper! Also playing hookie for a day and staying in bed is also beneficial for health and happiness.)
Oh my god that looks amazing. *adds to wanderlust list of places to go*
We did a tiny staycation for our 5-year wedding anniversary earlier this month. We stayed at a local B&B we’d always wanted to try, located on a street we used to live on. It was close enough to our current home that we could dog-sit our own dogs by popping out and coming back real quick! And there were fluffy robes. So basically, A+.
+1 for the Crocodile Dundee reference.
GORGEOUS. I have a long list of quintessential NW places to stay including Lake Quinault Lodge, Lake Crescent Lodge, Paradise Lodge and now … Salish Lodge.
I spent the entire weekend on my couch binge watching TV and it was GLORIOUS. Three cheers for true R&R.
All that food looks amazing! I am dying for a vacation (or staycation, whatever), but since we can’t make that happen right now, I settled for spending most of the weekend reading on our covered porch.
It’s small, but I took a 20 minute walk for a break today and walked along a pretty quiet tree lined Street and it was so so wonderful.
I am also planning a mental health day, so so SO important for my job, for next week probably bc I need a day in bed like WOAH. I do not hesitate taking those. So glad you had fun at the lodge!
The little walks, so clutch.
Is that TWIN PEAKS???
Yes it is!!
OMG wow.
Thats some seriously incredible scenery AND food. Jealous!
OMG you went to the Great Northern!!!!! I love Twin Peaks so hard. My wedding was Twin Peaks themed. I am jealous.
I actually got married at Salish Lodge in fall 2011 and it was magical. I agree that the food is absolutely spectacular and the spa was wonderful. I can’t recommend it highly enough. We hope to return for an anniversary someday (although we’re presently on the east coast). Miss the Pacific NW terribly!
