This weekend was fantastic! We had lots of really fun family time, we had grown up time with actual adults where we MINGLED. We got to play out side, we visited family, we installed a new shower caddy thingy that replaced our old one that was covered in RUST, I made raspberry lemon muffins, the world felt good and right again.
Little fingers could barely contain themselves.
“Snacks, yes? Nummies? Yes?”
“We have to wait for them to cool.”
“Nummies? Yes? Yes. nummies?”
How can you say no to that face? You cannot.
We could have stood throwing rocks into the water until Gabe shriveled up and died and he would have been happy.
Let me tell you a story about my small victory. There was a log floating along in the water, so my parents, Kamel and I tried to be the first to hit it with a rock. And after many attempts, who was the first to smack it? ME! HAHA! VICTORY IS MINE!! Who needs TV when you can throw rocks at a floating log?
Gabriel wanted to become one with the sea and the stone and took much cajoling to come home with us.
Remember that lamp we bought last weekend? Well it had a short life in our house when we decided we didn’t like it. Bye lamp!
“Mas cook-kies?”
Spaghetti and meatballs at gr. grandma’s house.
The only place I want to be on a Sunday night, AMIRIGHT?!
#bighairdontcare Successful weekend!
Not pictures:
Claire’s open house, visiting with Kathleen and Devin and many other grown ups in the land of grown ups without children present and without the need to parent anyone. Did I mention the other grownups?
How many muffins I ate.
Gabe mocking Kamel and saying “nonononono” at him.
Walking in the rain with my husband on our way home from grown up time and loving a tiny slice of parenting freedom.
How many dance moves Gabe has.
I want to become one with the sea and the stones, too.
In all seriousness, your pictures have me (almost) looking forward to Elliott getting older and all the great adventures we will have. For now, he is so close to walking and I (and my back) will be looking forward to that day.
What didn’t you guys like about the Ikea lamp? It’s one that I keep looking at, but I feel like it might be too short.
It’s definitely tall. But it had a very spotlight feel and we needed a more gentle, all over light vs a pointed light in only one section.
One with the sea and stones – yes!
Also – how come we did not take photos at my party? Fail in the land of grown ups!
Always Mas cookies, always Gabe.
