Weekending 27

The last two weeks our weekends have been giant scramble-fests. Trying to make up for the lost time of illness and pregnancy. Filling my freezer, prepping for the week, wrapping up projects and errands that were put on the backburner in early December and holy shit it is February.

On Saturday morning we started off the day with a walk and grocery shopping. When the baby napped I made Bolagnese for the freezer and then post nap we hit up Ikea and costco. It was a big day. I was aching and exhausted afterwards.

Sunday was chores in the morning and then the Super Bowl in the afternoon. Then boom the weekend was over and I wanted to sleep for a thousand years.

Not Pictured:

The accidental scratch on Gabe’s hand that caused him to cling to us like a little monkey for the first half of the game.

All of my glass tupperware thanks to Kathleen that I am obsessed with.

The homemade barbecue chicken sandwiches my dad made for the game that I was dreaming about the entire week. Oh they were so good, and exactly why they are not pictured.

My sadness at the outcome of the game. But at least it was entertaining!

  1. Your weekends AMAZE ME, Lauren. Our Ikea trips are never, ever, ever, ever followed by Costco trips! I would be the one being fed ice cream, and demanding to be held like a monkey, and yet I am an adult woman without the responsibility of raising and growing one!

    Seriously amazed.

      1. It’s not a trip to IKEA without the icecream or the hot dog. Have just realised Dear Boy is now old enough for the free child-minding/playground. Can’t wait to actually get to walk through and browse instead of shortcutting to the hall of boxes for exactly the thing we went there for.
