Weekend-ing

It has been very beautiful and crystal clear out for the last week. It has also been very cold. I know it will probably get colder at some point, so I’ve been waiting to pull out the big jackets, but in the mean time I am shivering against a perfectly cloudless sky.

I felt bad that on Saturday we spent the afternoon seeing a movie with friends and going to dinner instead of being outside. I mean, not THAT bad. We saw Rosewater and it was really good and then we hate-ate at a restaurant that should have been easy and good and turned out to have weird service and meh food. But it was delightful to constantly make fun of it together.

Sunday was trying to play outside in the cold, haircuts where Gabe did not have an absolute and complete meltdown (which shocked the shit out of me to my great great great relief), football and laziness, and errands downtown.

On Friday night I continually half woke up thinking the following day was a work day and then remembering it wasn’t. That is the greatest. Today I wish it was another day to nap and lay around, but it is actually, indeed Monday. Here we go…

I think Kamel looks like 3-blind mice behind Gabe. Forgive his scruff he is doing no-shave November with my dad.

You make a left at the Piggly Wiggly, go past Wally World, and it’s just up ahead on the right.

This restaurant had an etch-a-sketch they gave to children. WHAT. GENIUS.

Not Pictured:

The basketball hoop my parents got for their living room that Gabe loves.

The napping that happened on our couch.

How Gabe knows the theme song for The Daily Show.

How cold I actually was (am).

  1. The hate eating was probably the highlight of my weekend! It’s so lovely when we have the same “WTF” thoughts and that the solidarity of it all makes the meal bearable, not to mention the company 🙂
Yay for those hats – I am so glad they are going to good use – although not grateful for the cold snap!
Kamel as a blind mice – genius!

  2. Looks like an awesome weekend!
Saturday I went out with friends for lunch after sleeping off a migraine while M took LJ to the local recreation centre, then in the afternoon we went swimming.
Sunday we spent most of the day with the grandparents, including LJ having his nap in a big-boy bed there (yikes!) before trying to get him to walk on the beach / paddle in the harbour in the afternoon (epic fail, he did.not.like the beach).
Roll on proper summer. This spring has been all over the show.
