Weekend-ing

I did not sleep enough this weekend. Friday I did not sleep well at all, tossy-turny-ed a million times. Then Saturday I was out late late late with Claire for a lady dinner and a movie date. We saw the Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby. It was really well done and gave me lots of feels and lots to think about and talk about. Has anyone else seen that? I enjoy stories that take place post happily ever after, or unhappily as it were.

Gabe had his first swim lessons! They went pretty well. A few tears but no freak outs and it was so incredibly cute watching him and all the other babies/toddlers splash around in their adorable baby swim outfits and then also freak out at different times. There was a lot of singing cuteness.

Other things that happened that are not pictured:

  • A Friday night dinner with my parents for a belated Kamel birthday.
  • A visit from one of Kamel’s friends on Sunday who had just finished hiking from Mexico to Seattle. Whhaatttt.
  • Lots of walks and grocery shopping and attempting to watch both The Strain (FX) and The Leftovers (HBO). The Strain was too gross for me and The Leftovers was too depressing. With my very limited time for television I do not want to spend an hour feeling bad.

How was your weekend?

  1. My weekend was great. I took my little man shopping to Target and then to our food co-op. He loves going out and people watching. He’s been in swim lessons since 6 months old, but we played hooky this weekend. We’ll have to do a make-up class next Friday night. It was worth it, because mama got to sleep in while dada and baby watched cartoons.

  2. This weekend was so much fun! It was mostly spent in lauren-claire land, as described, with also some naps, chores, call-the-midwife marathoning, running, etc. Swimming lessons were a huge highlight for me, obviously 🙂 Check out the crazy eyes lady – in the hand on the head walking out of the Y picture. Hilarious!

  3. Whaaaaaaaaaaaat is that shark hat/outfit thingy?? that is AMAZING. Also, I am continuously amazed at how often you guys get out of the house. If i don’t have something that I HAVE to do, I’m content to hide in my apartment for 48 hours straight. Impressive!
