Weekend-ing 9: Brought to You by Pride

This weekend was about recovery and my dad’s retirement. Yay!! Starting on Tuesday both my parents will officially be retired. How weird is that? It is very weird for me. They seem way too young and honestly, good for them! They have busted their butts in civil service for 30 years. Hoo-raw. So yes, retirement and recovery. There was laundry-palooza, finally getting vegetables back in the house, soccer games (sad, sad soccer games), rest, writing, prep for writing, photos to accompany writing, and a really excellent steak on Saturday night.

But! Throughout all of that, there was also Pride. So instead of the usual “us running a-muk” weekend photos, I bring you: the rainbows of Seattle Pride weekend.

Elsewhere:

Dads. I love them. I love mine, and I love Gabe’s. They are the best.

This post on the complications of having a family member with a vague mental illness is beautiful and real.

50 cent is my life coach (also via a gaishan life).

  1. My friends who moved to London last year did Pride on the weekend, and managed to get selfies with Sir Ian McKellan. I (love)hate them right now – so jealous!
Love the rainbows. Its not a big thing here yet, even though we are one of the more progressive countries legally, Pride is a single parade (I think next weekend) in one city.

    1. That is AMAZING. We have been planning a London trip since before we got married but other things kept popping up and derailing our trips. ONE DAY LONDON AND AREAS OF SCOTLAND… onneee daayy.
