Weekend-ing

This weekend was super go go go go go. This month is super go go go go go. I am kind of gritting my teeth until it is over, actually. It is a little TOO busy for my hermit tendencies. Thankfully all of the action is good things cometh, so bring it on.

Yesterday was Father’s Day! And though we did the big event of the Boeing Tour last weekend, I still had some fun things in store for Kamel. I got him the Looney Toons (old school) on bluray and snuck out in the early morning with the baby to bring back biscuit breakfast sandwiches, then we headed over to my parent’s house to spend quality dad time with them.

Saturday was crazy too. The usual running around of errands and cleaning and general house maintenance occured, and then I had a tour lined up with the Gates Foundation Visitors Center. More on that coming soon.

All of these while the baby was teething/snotty/drooly/generally very little fun to be around. But even a whiny, sensitive, easily melt-down-able Gabe is still a pretty hilarious, awesome Gabe. So even though I am collapsed in bed writing this, it was a pretty excellent two days off from work all around.

  1. What a lovely weekend that looks like! We stayed close to home with the potty training toddler. (She’s doing awesome – next weekend, we resume adventuring). Luckily there was lots of World Cup to watch, which is what I wanted to be doing anyway. :) Also, the weather here in DC was lovely, perfect for having all the windows open and playing in the yard.

  2. Looks like a lovely weekend – although I find this a bit weird because Father’s Day isn’t until September here.

…Does one of those photos above really say ‘Bacon Jam’? Ummm… how does one do that?

  3. Weekends!! I have been treasuring our last weekends in Chicago, I cannot believe we’re leaving so soon! Only 5 left!

This Sunday was a gloriously sunny, but not very humid day, so we took a little road trip up Sheridan Rd along the lakefront. Sometimes through all the hustling from 1 project to the next, it’s easy to forget why we like each other so much and the few hours, just the 2 of us alone on the open road, were exactly what I didn’t even know needed.

My interest/nosiness is in overdrive with all those hints this weekend, can’t wait to hear more! :)

  4. HE IS SOOOO TALL!!! also I wanna go to a farmers market. its great that you guys are going, we need to get on it. Also, i want a donut.

I am a writer living in Seattle and I believe that life is a grand adventure and only boring if you believe it to be. Plus! You don't need money to have fun.

I live with my husband, a photographer by education and a maker-of-video-games by trade, and a baby named gabe in an apartment on the hill.

I am romantic about most things and I cry... about almost anything. I tell stories to entertain you, I spread stories to keep you in the loop. I am not a grammar freak, but I do know how to spell it. I am exceedingly proud of my scrambled eggs and I really could eat an entire pan of cupcakes. If I met me, I would be my best friend. I tend to be irreverent.
