Weekend-ing

Oh man, what to say? The weekend after a three day weekend is always the shortest weekend on the planet. What a tease you were, weekend. The baby is on a wake-up-super-early-every-day kick and it is killing me. KILLING ME. I already wake up at 5am during the week in order to work out, so on the weekends I really… REALLY need at least a 6:30 or 7:00 sleep in schedule. But no. Not even with staying up past baby bedtime on Friday did we get a sleep in. Nope. So I am writing this on Sunday night and I am DRAGGING. Oh, 5 day week, how you will stomp on me and spit me out, I just know it.

This weekend was errands errands errands, cleaning the house, playing with the baby, and heading over to my parent’s for roof top time + grilled salmon and other noms made by my dad. The weather was amazing, I got too much sun despite sunscreen, and the baby did not get burnt (thank goodness). We’ve been on a mission to explore a variety of parks whenever we can, so this weekend we went to Jefferson Park in Beacon Hill. SO COOL. So many cool things to play with, so many open fields to explore. Even many water spouts to splash in. We will be back, Jefferson…. oh yes we will.

Gabe also got a legit shoe fitting at Nordstrom on Saturday. It was a great way to kick off the weekend. New summer kicks, who wouldn’t be thrilled about that?

  1. Beautiful weekend! And jealous of your farmer’s market strawberries (apparently strawberry farms don’t exist in Ohio?). Fun fact: I went to high school and played volleyball with the Hayton girls. šŸ™‚

    1. What part of Ohio are you in? We get lots of local strawberries at the farmers’ markets around Columbus! They are the best, and have ruined me for all grocery store strawberries.

And Lauren, your weekend sounds awesome – so much fun crammed into two days!

  2. How did Gabe get so big!?! He looks less like a baby and more toddler-like! Where, oh where, does the time go! Such a sweet lil boy. šŸ™‚

  3. I miss the Broadway Farmer’s market so deeply. Was our favorite weekend tradition to wander around, people watch and score some delicious treats! I especially miss the guy who plays the electric violin who rides a bike with his dog.

  4. This is kinda random, but did you used to have the black bumbleride stroller? I only remember because I copied you and got a bumbleride but in grey, the same as the one in your pics! Did you get a newer stroller? My wheel gets wobbly sometimes, so just want to make sure there wasn’t a defect with the original or anything. Like I said, random!

    1. Our stroller was stolen! So we replaced it. šŸ™‚ If the wheels get wiggly sometime they are not clicked in all the way OR they are low on air.
