Insta-Grammy: Food and Babies

Going through our instagram photos, I’ve noticed there is a common theme lately: Babies & Food.

"Paint me like one of your French girls."
“Paint me like one of your French girls.”

I haven’t done one of these in a while because … well… food and babies pretty much sums it up. We haven’t really been doing much except for entertaining lovely family and friends who have made the trek to visit le bebe. Other than that Kamel and I have done exactly these things:

  • Gone out to dinner alone once.
  • Kamel has been able to see 1 movie in theatres.
  • I have been able to get 2 pedicures.
  • Taken a lot, a lot, a lot, a lot of walks.
  • Ordered in more dinner than I can count.

That is not a list of wild and crazy photo-op worthy adventures. But we have definitely been making the most of things.

"I'm afraid the deflector shield will be quite operational when your friends arrive."

I’ve been trying to set some adventure-ish things in motion over at chez Duprez. Making some plans, taking some risks… but life is being demanding currently. We have an upcoming move (details on that soon), some other life transition-y things, and a PTO drought that is making fun adventures that may take place M-F difficult. Especially now that I had to take 2 days for a sick Gabe. Sigh.

So for now we’ve got food and babies, babies and food. And I’m treasuring every moment at home that isn’t filled with errands or obligations.

If you would like to follow Kamel and I on Instagram, we are under 1 account (Kamelperez). We’re working on cutting down on the superfluous baby photos, and getting back to the interesting goings-on of normal life, but it’s a process.

  1. Don’t worry, photos of Gabe are not superfluous! He’s too cute and funny as well.
The food looks yummy (mmm conchas, mole… veggies… now I kind of feel like mashed potatoes), and I am so glad Kamel was able to go to the movies, you got pedicures, and went on a date. (Wish I was there to babysit while you guys go out).

    1. Hahahahaha. I’m going to try and only post the REALLY REALLY cute/good ones from now on. Only internet worthy baby photos. hahaha. But you totally made me laugh when I read this comment.

      1. Very important question: where have you been getting all your cute baby hoodie zip-up sweatshirts? I’ve found some but they were around $30. I’m hoping there’s a better source.

        1. I think the majority are just from target. The black fleece was a gift from kamel’s parents, but I’m sure it wasn’t overpriced baby things. And the grey was a hand-me-down. The red stripe is def from target. It came with sweat pants and a onesie. We have a few others he is not quite fitting into and they are from Kamel’s sister and she got them from walmart. We are not expensive baby clothes people. 🙂
