Right now I’m in Michigan where the sun doesn’t come out until after 8am, there’s snow on the ground, and last night I couldn’t sleep due to a raging sore throat (weee!). But last week! I was in Mexico City, my eyes as big as saucers as I ran around the city soaking up as much as I could, enjoying family, having adventures with Kamel, laughing about the morning Tamale man, the dog that barked every day at 6:30 am, going on morning walks with the camera in the sunshine, and doing my best to understand all of the Spanish swirling around me while Kamel acted as my UN Interpreter, drinking Tequila with lime and salt. I want to go back there.
I love all of these pictures (but especially the ones involving food!) What a great way to spend your holiday!
All of this looks amazing! Excellent photos!
Wow, Mexico City looks awesome… Glad you had such a good time!
mexican pastries…nom nom nom…
these shots are epic! this one especially makes me feel like you’re in a travel show with anthony bourdain: http://betterinrealife.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/Mexico-124.jpg.

Oh yes, that gentlemen with the cig was Kamel’s best man. <3 him
Woooooww I cant get over all the beautiful COLORS! Mexico City is sooo colorful!! And the bag lady! I want one of her bags! 🙂 So glad you had such an amazing time. Maybe it will become an annual tradition?
I think so for sure. Maybe not for christmas, but I think we’ll go more often. It was the bestest.
Yeah totally! We are gonna try to go there more often. =)
These photos are FABULOUS!!! Looks like you two had SO much fun! YAY!
Thanks lady. That means a lot coming from you. 🙂
Omg. The bread. The corn. The tortillas. Mexico City is AMAZING AND I WANT TO GO BACK!
Love that last photo, btw.
The food was amazing! But honestly, I think I need a break from Mexican food for at least 1, maybe 2 weeks.
So jealous. 😉 I love Mexico and need to go back ASAP!
Beautiful pictures lauren!! What an awesome adventure – I’m totally enthralled with the colors and people and food and the goings-on of these pictures – each time I look at them, theres more to see!
These photos are amazing! Thank you for sharing!
I can feeeeeeeeeel the color, noise, smells, stimulation overload. Looks like a fabulous trip.
(And now I’m hungry.)
Yay!! thank you! I took most of them – except the ones that I’m in. 🙂
So much fun ! All that food, tacos al pastor, conchas, and Frida Kahlo’s kitchen (right?), and grilled corn. You have my mouth watering here. Looks like you enjoyed every second of it !
Also, Xochimilco… you gave me memories there, I did an internship studying axolotls , water neotenic salamanders that only live there, and as to be expected, mexicans eat them in tamales and make healing creams out of them.
Hope everything is going well in Michigan !
Just a few days before these pictures I was in the JW Marriott Hotel right there, in Polanco! You just walking right in front of it is an amazing coincidence!
Colors never end in Mexico, I love it!
You are making me miss Latin America SO HARD.
And now I have to add Mexico to my “to go” list. Awesome pics 🙂
