It’s been a very busy week over here at Chez Dupuis-Perez. Lots of hubbub. Some good, some not so good.
Hint: If you have “we’re ruining the planet” induced apocolyptic fears, I wouldn’t suggest watching GasLand before bed. Unless you like panic attacks and sobbing into pillows.
So, today we’re having a quiet day. But next week is so FULL of content I can’t even handle it. Lots of fun photos, lots of interesting tidbits, and a pretty exciting (for me) announcement on Monday!
Have a wonderful weekend, find some sun, wear sunscreen, and I’ll see you on Monday. <3
Wasn’t GasLand terrifying? About 3/4 of the way through, we were like “okay, I think we get the point now” and stopped watching.
about 1/3 of the way through Kamel had to turn it off because I was crying and saying I didn’t want to live here anymore… 🙁 It’s the worst. How we are murdering the planet upsets me every day. And how I feel like we really don’t have any control over anything. At least not anything major. Yes I can reduce my own personal waste but there are WAY worse things happening that I can’t fix or stop.
I haven’t seen GasLand, but since my reaction to Food Inc was exactly like yours (Lauren), I don’t think I want to. Yuck.
New masthead!!! New masthead!! And YES those type of movies (although they make me feel very informed and soap-boxy) make me very very very sad and make me feel bad about bringing kids into this fucked up place (although I’ll still have them, see? Selfish me!) ps: 5 more days!!!!
If it’s any consolation, there are a lot of inaccuracies and misrepresentation in Gasland, so it’s not as bad as the film makes it out to be
