I wanted to take a minute and discuss the new tab on top of the site today. Goods and Services is going to be a permanent explanation for how you can get your small business, or artistic venture featured on I’m Better In Real Life. It’s also an explanation for you guys on how I go about suggesting and reviewing products. It goes a little something like this:
I have a policy that I will not review a good or service without using said good or service. Period. That being said, if you would like me to review a good or a service, I won’t post about it if I didn’t enjoy the experience. I don’t want to publicly thrash someone on the internet, if I think there is something a touch fishy about your product, I’m going to mention it. Much like the most recent wedding accessories post about the necklace. As beautiful as it was, I couldn’t completely recommend it. This keeps the products I do suggest held to a high standard, and it means you can trust me when I say something is freaking awesome. And it means I’m not just going to jerk you or the vendor around. All’s honest, right up front.
This next part is subject to change, but for now this is how I roll: All reviews and advertising on this blog is free. The rules are 1) I need to use your good or service in order to pimp it out and 2) You need to be awesome.
I want this space to work as an avenue for my writing, to entertain people, and to support rad independent artists. Do you make amazing bags and need an audience? I want to talk to you. Do you think you make the most bad-ass feather jewelery around? Hit me up. I want this to be a place where people know the quality of the writing and story telling is just as sharp as the quality of goods I support. My house is a working artist house, and I want to help others’ who are out there trying to make that happen for themselves as well.
