Last Week of Books for 2010!

This is the last day of book recommendations before the holiday and then the amazon widget will update as I start reading new things – so whenever you need reading inspiration it will be there for you.

This week I suggest:
The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Woa by Junot Diaz
Geek Love by Katherine Dunn
Ceremony by Leslie Marmon Silko
Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden

I’m hoping to finish at least two books before the end of the year (and receive a few new ones for Christmas …. eee!) so look for more interesting book talk/reviews on the flip side! I’m warning you – it may heavily involve more Atwood/Didion business as a tromp through my life list. Thanks for being awesome participants every week and sharing your current reads with me. I’ve got some fabulous suggestions to add to my growing pile next to the bed that Kamel can trip over and grumble about.

“These books really need to be put away, Lauren!”

“They are! That’s my nighttime reading pile!”

“Oh for fuckssake.”

Ah, Life.

    1. YAY! I love that someone else has read that book. It’s hard to find anyone who has. And for anyone who doesn’t know : the book is not about nerds. It’s about amazing circus freaks. 🙂 Now if that’s not enticing, I don’t know what is.

  1. Oooooh, I was actually really surprised by how much I liked Memoirs of a Geisha. I’m holed up the next few days with The Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov, which sounds delightfully weird and creepy. Here’s hoping that it will be!
